It's not made specifically for a Blackberry 8820 or for anything else and your Blackberry 8820 could use any standard USB 2.0 cable. As such, if a USB 2.0 cable is needed, the best strategy is to shop on price.
We can't tell whether this cable 'outperforms the original' because we are not given any criteria to judge 'performance' but the USB 2.0 standards are well established so it's pretty safe to state that this cable's performance is in no significant way better or worse than the original.
